There are rumors that PlayStation may combine PlayStation Now and PS Plus into a new service to directly compete with Game Pass, though nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if Shadow Warrior 3 being a day one PlayStation Now game has anything to do with the rumors of PlayStation preparing a Game Pass competitor. Anyone interested in older gaming experiences should definitely give it a look, though it should be noted that the older games can only be streamed, not downloaded. PlayStation Now offers games across multiple PlayStation generations, and is in fact the only way that PlayStation 5 consoles can play PS3 games. The new PlayStation Now games for March 2022 are anyone's guess, but in the meantime, there is no shortage of content for fans to check out through the service. After all, the new PlayStation Now games for February 2022 consisted entirely of previously-released games in Death Squared, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition, Little Big Workshop, and Through the Darkest of Times. The other new PlayStation Now games for March 2022 have not been announced at the time of this writing, but fans can count on them being older titles. RELATED: PS Plus Marketing Language Change May Hint at Rumored New Subscription Service Whether or not this translates into more PlayStation Now subscriptions remains to be seen, but it's still a big move on Sony's part. This is one of the clearest signs that Sony is preparing to fight back against Xbox Game Pass, perhaps testing the waters with day one games using Shadow Warrior 3. In a surprise announcement, it's been confirmed that Shadow Warrior 3, a brand-new first-person shooter game set to launch on March 1, will be available to PlayStation Now subscribers on day one. That will change next month, as PlayStation Now will have a day one game on offer. There are hundreds of games available on PlayStation Now, though the key difference between it and Xbox Game Pass is that PlayStation Now focuses on older games, whereas Game Pass offers day one releases. The PlayStation Now subscription service doesn't get quite as much attention as Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass or Sony's own PlayStation Plus, but PlayStation Now still offers considerable value.
